ഐ ഐ ടികള്‍, ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് സയന്‍സ് തുടങ്ങിയ ഉന്നത വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലെ ഡിസൈനിങ്ങിലെ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദ, ഗവേഷണ കോഴ്സുകളിലേക്കുള്ള (Master of Design) പ്രവേശന പരീക്ഷയാണ് സീഡ്. (CEED – Common Entrance Examination for Design).
സീഡ് സ്കോര്‍ ഉള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് താഴെപ്പറയുന്ന പ്രോഗ്രാമുകളിലേക്ക് അപേക്ഷിക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയും. ഇതില്‍ ചില പ്രോഗ്രാമുകള്‍ക്ക് ഗേറ്റ് സ്കോര്‍ ഉള്ളവര്‍ക്കും അപേക്ഷിക്കുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കും. സീഡ് സ്കോറിന് ഒരു വര്‍ഷത്തെ കാലാവധിയാണുള്ളത്.

യോഗ്യത
അപേക്ഷ ക്ഷണിക്കുന്ന വര്‍ഷം, ജൂലൈയില്‍ ഇനിപ്പറയുന്ന യോഗ്യതയില്‍ ഒന്നുണ്ടാവണം.
- Degree/diploma/postgraduate degree programmes of 4 years or 3+2 years or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10 + 5 level).
- അവസാന വര്‍ഷ പരീക്ഷയെഴുതുന്നവര്‍ക്കും അപേക്ഷിക്കാം. ഉയര്‍ന്ന പ്രായ പരിധിയില്ല.
- ഒരാള്‍ക്ക് എത്ര തവണ വേണമെങ്കിലും അപേക്ഷിക്കാം.
- ഓണ്‍ലെനായിട്ടാണ് അപേക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടത്.
പരീക്ഷാ രീതി
പാര്‍ട്ട് എ, പാര്‍ട്ട് ബി എന്ന് രണ്ടായിട്ടാണ് പരീക്ഷ. തുടര്‍ന്ന് അഭിമുഖവുമുണ്ടാകും. പാര്‍ട്ട് എ യില്‍ ഷോർട്ട് ലിസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നവര്‍ക്കാണ് പാര്‍ട്ട് ബി എഴുതുവാന്‍ കഴിയുക. പാര്‍ട്ട് ബി യുടെ മാര്‍ക്കാണ് സ്കോറിന് പരിഗണിക്കുക.
പാര്‍ട്ട് എ യിലെ വിഷയങ്ങള്‍
- Visual Communication – this includes Logo’s, signage, packaging, fonts etc.
- Animation Design – includes Movement observation, comic strips, visuals etc.
- Product Design – that covers Latest and newest products and trends, current products etc.
- Automobile Design – that relates to Aesthetics, manufacturers and plants etc.
- Digital (applied to almost all the fields) – which relates to Photography, color coding, displays, printing etc.
- Observation and visualization (Basic designer skill) – something like Mirroring, textures, evolution (past to present), isometrics and geometry, tessellations, shadows and more.
- Architecture – that covers Sculpture, monuments, materials etc.
- General awareness – which includes Engineering ability, materials, culture of the country, famous personalities and their works, instruments, animals etc.
പാര്‍ട്ട് ബി യിലെ വിഷയങ്ങള്‍
- Basic and visual sketching – that might include objective, perceptive and imaginative types Observation, problem Identification and problem solving
- Design think-ability – that relates mostly to the design streams like product/Industrial,
- Interaction Design and User Interface Design
- Visual communication design in the form of posters, logo
- Animation design in the form of comic strips, character framing etc
