Online registration for JEE Main (I) exam will end on September 30. JEE aspirants can apply for the JEE main (I) on the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) at nta.ac.in. Online payment of fees can be done till October 1, 11.50 pm. NTA will allow candidates to edit the application form, if they wish to, from October 8 to October 14. JEE Main (I) admit card will be released in December and the exam is slated to be held from January 6 to January 20, 2019. The results will be declared on the first week of February 2019.
JEE Main is being held as an entrance examination for admission to engineering courses and as also a screening test for JEE Advanced, which scores have been used for admission in institutes like NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. The Indian Institutes of Technology would continue to conduct Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced exam. For JEE Main, the students will be given 8 different sittings, and candidate can choose any one from those to attend JEE Main 2019 online exams.
NTA will be conducting entrance examinations not in “online” mode, but, only in “computer-based” mode. The students will have to reply on already downloaded answer sheets using a computer mouse. NTA has made clear that these examinations will be conducted using highly secured IT software and encryption to ensure delivery of tests just in time. This will ensure no leakages and other malpractices.
This is the first exam to be conducted by the NTA after it was officially assigned to handle entrance exams like JEE Main, NEET, GPAT, CMAT and NET exams which were earlier conducted by CBSE and AICTE. This year, onwards, JEE main will be held twice a year. The best score, of the two, will be considered for admission. Aadhaar number is not mandatory for registering for JEE main.
Online registration for JEE Main (II) examination will be in February 2019. The examination will be between April 7 and April 21, 2019.
