Follow these 5 things to manage the Exam Stress:

  1. Visualize our success in detail that we want to achieve. We must have a very clear and vivid picture about it, like, even the moment of result announcement. In his stunning achievements at the London Olympics, 2012, Usain Bolt had applied this technique successfully. We would create success in our mind first. Let’s get ready our mind for the desired success.

2. Manage the Exam Stress – It’s a miracle that helps us to overcome the stress if we can manage this stress wisely. Have you noticed that when the word STRESSED in English could be written back as DESSERTS? Desserts are favorite for you all. Having a creative re-setting of our stress in our own minds will help us to be never scared during the test. Or else it becomes a stupid act. For sure! We must understand those negative reactions like fear, anxiety, or worry, it will have a negative impact on our performances. Instead of such negative attributes, fill our heart on hopeful thoughts like courage, self-confidence, and optimism.

3. Praying and meditation are useful practices in this stage. The proper exercise of these rituals makes the mind more relaxing. These are the best practices when it comes to copying anything that we believing in life. Skeptics, particularly those with selfish goals, are futile and conflicting as well.

4. Self-Counseling is another good way to gain and maintain confidence. We can do it by ourselves. Sit in the quiet atmosphere and talk to us like a close friend. We have to listen to ourselves, as well. In doing so, our minds might feel calm and cool. It may be surprising that anyone can find the right solutions through this practice. In this way, self-counseling is an effective way to overcome negative stress and that is highly rewarding and not at all costly.

5. Finally, there is also a psychological technique, Bridging Persons or Object. This ‘connecting’ is the ability to get our mind cool hastily. This must be done immediately after entering the examination hall. To ‘connect’ means: when first to sit on the seat, calmly turn the eyes. Concentrate on our mind. Then remember a person who gives a happy feeling (never disturbs), instantly like our beloved one, or one who closest to you. (Instead of such a person, it can be a favorite toy, place, or situation as well-but select it intelligently)

In this “bridging” unite your all thoughts with this person or object and get away from all distraction. For this entire activity, you may need to move it for two minutes. Surprisingly, when the heart is filled with such cherishing thoughts, we will experience an element of enthusiasm in mind without any delay. We can then complete the test by utilizing that lasting joy against any kind of negative thoughts during the whole exam.

Here are a few things more as Exam Tips:

A. The day before the examination, all the materials like hall ticket, pens and, etc., the things required during the examinations should be prepared in advance. Because when you go search each and everything while starting from home to the examination hall, you become panic and confused which will be adversely affected your mindset. These things should be remembered when examining the exam.

B. When the question paper is received, read it with the diligent care with the enthusiasm of ‘Bridging’. The questions can be marked into three ways; well-known questions with circles, next will need a bit of musing upon them with squares and the hardest ones can be marked with triangles. Now we have to set a timeline for writing also. Minimum time should be set for the circled questions. Only questions that have been signaled by triangles get more time and effort. This entire exercise must be done within 4-5% of the total time (at least 10 minutes) of the test. After writing the test, it must be 10 minutes at least, you must read all the answers carefully for editing and corrections where ever they are needed. Check if any of your points have forgotten. In short, 80% of the time will be getting to write the exam. Remember this.

C.  Finally, after the examination, no ‘postmortem’. This should be avoided as it is done with the friends and acquaintances. This ‘question paper analysis’ does not only make any difference in your result for that particular paper, but it often affects the subsequent exam (s). The result will come in its own time. Avoid unnecessary worry.

Tail-end: Systematic preparation, nutritious food, adequate rest, positive actions that give energy to the mind with a right and practical lifestyle combine perfect rhythm would lead us to success. Let us thus make the scary into sacred, friends! Good luck!
